Doing Hard Things

This week in my entrepreneurship lecture a man who have climbed Mount Everest came and spoke to us. His motto is if when you say your goals out load and people don't laugh they aren't big enough. For instance, his big life goal is to go to Mars. Pretty ridiculous am I right? One of his goals was to climb the Seven Summits, which he has already done. Another branch of his motto is "you can do hard things."

I do believe in doing hard things and setting big goals, but I think I'm going to have to disagree with this man. I think if you have a family, responsibilities, and a those two would be severely effected if you die while trying these enormous goals you probably shouldn't attempt them.

I am going to continue to reach high goals, but not life threatening goals. Meeting this man helped me to see the difference between doing hard things and being dumb doing hard things. but that's just my opinion. I want to hear from you guys though! What do you think? Set realistic goals or set life threatening goals.
