This week Kyle and I were able to take a tour of Welfare Square in Salt Lake City. During this tour we were able to see how the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serves people around the world to make sure they have food and, through the employment center, jobs. We were able to tour the Church's Dairy building, Bakery, Employment Center, and the Bishop Store House.

I served as a missionary for the Church in Boise, Idaho where they have something super similar to this. It was a great reminder of why we pay tithing and fast offerings and how we can get more involved in service opportunities. While there I learned that over half of the employees working there are actually church members who volunteer they time and effort.

This tour really gave me the push I needed to not only remember to pay my fast offerings but also to seek out new ways I can serve my brothers and sisters on this earth. This week I will try to put these things into practice.
