April fools

A year ago today my now husband asked me to marry him. Now I know what you are thinking, "why the heck would he propose on April 1st?" The answer is "because he did it in the cutest possible way." When we first started dating he asked me to describe my perfect day. I told him that it would start with a beach trail run by my house, followed by breakfast at Bagel Shack, and finish the rest of the day at Disneyland. We went on a trip to California and without even knowing it he planned for us to live my perfect day. He perfected it even more by proposing to me. The only unfortunate part is that April 1 was the only day that trip he could make it happen. So even though everybody thought it was a joke, it was still a perfect day.

Why does this matter? Relationships are all about being able to get through all kinds of situations together and this ending being a situation where we had to explain to a lot of our friends and family that no we are not joking and yes we are getting married.
