From time to time Kyle and I help a friend with Baked Bear Catering. For those of you who don't know Baked Bear is a custom ice cream sandwich restaurant. We have the opportunity to go to wedding expos, pass out ice cream sandwiches, and talk to people about their weddings. At these expos we are surrounded by people who are very talented at their crafts.
Today I met an amazing photographer. She told me a little bit about how she started with videography then was a fashion photography and now she is trying to get into the wedding photography. I have seen how hard it is to make in the photography world, especially the wedding side of the business. She gave me some interesting insight. She said that too many people focus on trying to be the best photographer out there instead of working the business aspect of it. She told me that people who focus too much on themselves miss out on opportunities by not trying to network and therefore end up failing even if they have a beautiful talent.
I was so grateful that I was able to meet and get to know her. She taught me that if I am not willing to step outside my comfort zone and put myself out there I cannot succeed in what I want to do. I can go ahead in life with more confidence knowing as I network I can only be helping promote myself and what I stand for.
